Rhodes flow indicators and sight glasses are devices that enable a visual check if there is a flow of liquid through a pipeline. The pressure range available is from full vacuum up to 50 bar (higher available on request) with temperatures from -40 ºC up to 400 ºC possible.

Sight glasses and flow indicators are available in various types as follows:

• Straight through and angled with drip spout
• Straight through with flap and scale plate
• Spinner type
• Flow fingers with or without flow switch
• Tubular and vessel sight glasses

Glass and joint options

Standard - supplied with nickel reinforced graphite joints and toughened soda lime glass

Extra options available include:

• PTFE, Viton, CAF or Nitrile joints
• Borasilicate, quartz or Vycor glass

Materials

• Stainless steel
• Gun metal
• Carbon steel
• Cast iron glass or PFA/FEB lined

Special materials are also used in the manufacture of flow indicators, e.g. Duplex, Super Duplex and Hastelloy.

Port connections

• Female screwed BSPT, BSPP and NPT
• Flanged ANSI B16.5 Class 150RF

Also available:

• Butt and socket weld
• Flanges to ANSI 300RF
• BS Table D, E, F
• N16, PN25 and PN40
